Ramy K. Aziz is a professor of Microbiology and Immunology, Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University, and the head of MARC Bioscience Research Laboratories in Giza, Egypt. An expert in genomics and bioinformatics, with >125 publications in microbial pathogenesis, genomics, microbiome research, phage biology, and public-health microbiology, he has held academic, advisory, and leadership positions in United States and Egypt, pioneered the field of pharmacomicrobiomics, or drug-microbiome interactions, and is currently an elected TWAS fellow and a UNESCO IBSP advisor.
